Evergreen & Oak is thrilled to welcome our newest intern – Kinsley Couch! We are excited to have her join our team. Kinsley is a senior at the Hussman School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is going for a double major – a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with a focus on advertising and public relations, and a Bachelor’s degree in political science. Kinsley previously interned for Inward as a Social Media Manager & Strategy intern and Barco as a TikTok Creative Consultant. Kinsley is a talented individual, and we can’t wait to see the impact that she will make at Evergreen & Oak. Get to know a little bit more about our latest rockstar intern:
What was the last TV show you binge-watched?
The last TV show I binge-watched was Grey’s Anatomy. It’s honestly one of my favorite shows (I only consider seasons 1-8 though). I’d love to say I sped through it during the peak of lockdowns when people were actively engaging in binge-watching, but my guilty pleasure is TV, so it was only within the last couple of months.
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
My favorite way to unwind is by painting. I first started painting because it’s one of my boyfriend’s favorite hobbies- I quickly could tell why he enjoys it so much! Painting gives me the opportunity to be creative and make something truly beautiful from scratch. I love to sit outside and draw inspiration from the beautiful sunsets and landscapes.
Who or what inspires you in your career?
My mom inspires me the most in my career and life in general. She always assured me that the most important thing in life is happiness, so I aspire to that each day. Because of her, I am entering into a field that I’m truly passionate and excited about!
What originally got you interested in your current field of work?
What originally got me interested in PR was the Bill Gates quote, “If I was down to my last dollar, I’d spend it on public relations.” This quote really inspired me to get into the field because it highlights the important role public relations can play for companies.
What’s one work-related thing you want to accomplish in the next year?
One work-related thing I want to accomplish in the next year would be to earn the right to say I’ve made a difference. It doesn’t have to be a grandiose impact on the world, but I’d love to be able to make an impact on the things that are important to me.
