Evergreen & Oak is thrilled to welcome our newest intern – Macy Brown! We are excited to have her join our team. Macy has already hit the ground running, working hand-in-hand with our team to create client-ready deliverables. Macy is an impressive individual and we can’t wait to see the impact that she will make at Evergreen & Oak. Get to know a little bit more about our latest rockstar intern:
Welcome, Macy! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hello, everyone! My name is Macy Brown and I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from Greensboro, N.C. Studying Advertising and Public Relations, with a minor in Dramatic Arts, I am very passionate about community and creativity. In my free time, I am a film publicity ambassador for Warner Bros. Discovery and I run an all-female rideshare service at UNC-CH called She’s Not Here.
We have a history of rockstar PR interns due to a shared passion and dedication to public relations. What drove your interest in PR?
My interest sparked my freshman year of college when I took an introductory course in Advertising and Public Relations at UNC. Since then, every class and internship I have done has simply fueled my fire for the industry.
What do you hope to learn in your time with Evergreen & Oak?
I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in past internships. Evergreen & Oak is very different from what I have done in the past, so I am excited to challenge myself to learn and grow in my career. I hope to grow my confidence in analytics to show success in a campaign and draft submissions for events and awards.
Who/what has inspired you during your university career?
This is such a hard question for me – I have had a lot of mentors throughout my university career. However, I think the person who has had the most impact on my university career is our Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Julie Dixon-Green. She has helped me expand my network, hone my skills and build my confidence as a practitioner of the industry.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned during a previous internship?
I think that the most important thing I have learned from previous internships is how to collaborate on a team and how to effectively communicate with different types of people.
On the fun side, what book/TV/movie character do you like best? Why?
My favorite TV show character is probably Jessica Day from New Girl. She is so quirky and empathetic, and absolutely owns it!
Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
The next place on my travel bucket list is probably Shanghai!
Evergreen & Oak is looking for new rock stars to join our team! If you’re interested in being an intern, send your resume to contact@evergreenandoak.com!
